I completed my first P 1.7 in April and have been extremely impressed with it.
I am about to build another P 1.7 to replace the AD SSM2142 (single ended to balanced line driver) op amps I am using to drive the audio signal from my computer sound card via 55 feet of Belden 8451 to my main P1.7 preamp and stereo system. I think I will only get about half the CMR that I had with the SSM2142=CMR 110 dB ; however, am hoping I get the same great sound quality of the P 1.7. 1. Has any one used the P 1.7 to drive 55 feet of balanced cable? Since I do not need an antenuator of any type I am going to adjust the gain resistor to at least 2K2 or higher if possible. 2. What is the value of gain resistor to get the least distorion? From looking at the P 1.7 schematics it looks like about 2K2. As always thanks for your comments and suggestions. |
