This topic has probably been discussed many times over, but here we go again. I'm trying to find a suitable heatsink for the Aleph 1.2 that will enable me to have a more streamlined design, something like the attached sketch (just a rough sketch). I've been inspired by all the nice looking Aleph 2s at passDIY, and slimmed it some. The dimensions are of course dependant of the heatsinks and also the toroid (20cmx8xm+some). I don't want the heatsinks to be any wider than 50 cm, ca. 25 long and preferably not higher than 3-5 cm. This is the idea. However this is not as straight forward as it seemed to start with. There are practically no heatsinks this size that can handle 500 w (250w each).
I have found one heatsink that seems to deliver what I need. It is the Seifert KL- 147: http://www.seifert-electronic.de/en/produkt.php?id=46 Though, I'm not quite sure, therefore this post! The questions: - Is my plan at all feasable? - If so can this heatsink be used for the aleph 1.2 with a length of 250 mm? - Can anyone recommend any other heatsinks that might fit my specifications? Any help will be highly appreciated |

Heatsinks are always a problem. If nothing else, you can always try a fan. It will increase the heat transfer enormously.
