I am testing my Aleph-X . The PS is consist of 2 x 600 kVA tranformers with 2 groups of 110V primary tapping, the secondary is 16 Vac. Unfortunally, I have blown one of the 110 V core group in one transformer.
can I serial the two transformers, by using the still working 110V core group with another 110V core from the second good transformer to get it working under 230V ? |

How did you manage to blow one primary ?
If you have overloaded the trafo enough to blow a winding I would suspect that the insulation is severly damaged also. In this case it has to be rewound. (you don't want to try rewinding a toroid though...) You can probably connect them in series if they both see the same load, beware that your VA rating would be halfed. (the single winding on the damaged trafo can only take half the current) /Kenny |
