Would a 400VA (2x12V@200VA) run four channels of Mini-A?
Power supplies are 2x66,000uF CRC. |

It depends on the bias you want to run.

er ah... standard...
I am using the Brian GT board and did not plan on upping the bias. I am not sure what the "standard" bias resistor was in the kit, but that's what I'm running. I am planning on running this as a bi-amp four channel. I guess I could give something up to lower the bias on the HF amp if it was important.. close??? Or should I just buy another tranny? |

If you bias them at 1.5 amps with 14.5 volt rails it will be about 44 watts per channel. A 400VA or 2-200VA should do it.
Wuffwaff (William) has an Aleph power spreadsheet on this forum somewhere.

Thanks... my feeling is that it's a little low... just approaching marginal. Sometimes you get clarity after you can sleep on it. I got the dough... I should just buy the second one (tranny) rather than kicking myself in the a$$ every *******' time I look at it for the next twenty years. Eh?
I will check wuffwaff's power calculator though. Thanks! |
