I don't have my chassis, source select or output volume pot yet, but I do have my completed BOZ PCB and transformer. I powered it up, looks like 73v rectified. Is there anything else I can check for now, to ensure everything's OK?

My BOZ is built per pass's site directions.

Why don't you check the DC voltages to make sure they are in-line with what the article says they are supposed to be?

Then Make sure no DC on output but there won't be if you connected the output caps correctly.

Then there is no reason to go ahead and hardwire an input device that has an adjustable output (ipod, discman, etc...) and give it a listen.

Thx anyhow. I get 59.5v at R1, so that tracks. I'd prefer it was dead on 60 but... guess 'twas not to be.

I got the voltages at Q2 and Q3 within one hundredth of a volt using the pots on board.

Nothing smoking, tripple and quadruple checked all values, so I guess I'm good for a power on test, complete with input and load.

Great, hook er up.

You will not get 60 even due to the variation in the zeners...its not a precise voltage level, anywhere around 60 is fine. Also, it will go up as the power supply heats up, so you may find that it does in fact reach 60 or even 60.1.

Most likey the bigger variation will come from your Mosfets current consumption (if it's not matched). I'm using IRF610 and (after the 1K power resistor) left channel reads 19.1v wherelse right channel reads 20.3v. Not sure how critical that might be but stereo imagery is still fine.

She's online and functional. Thanks so much to all those here. Now, onto the zen power amps. Figure I'll start simple.

Eventually I wan to make 2 additional preamps and 4 more power amps for DVD-A and SACD multi-channel listening.
