Well, i ordered ELMA ladder att for diy volume contrlol and i have diy Aleph5. So i read that some sugest impedance must me between 10000KOhm and if i am not wrong (i read somewhere long time ago so i am not shure) Mr. Pass wrote 1KOhm. Volume control is at the output. So which impedance is best to match Preamp and amp. and how much att i use between steps (1,2 or more dB).

The one and only

The Aleph 5 doesn't care, so use any value that makes
you happy. I choose 10K routinely so that I don't see cable losses after a passive attenuator, but then I usually only deal in preamps that don't think of 10K as much of a load.
