Question Tannoy and Aleph: happy marriage?

Hello,
I'm going to buy the Tannoy Cheviot speakers, with 12" HPD transducers.
There is anyone who knows how they work with Aleph amplifiers?
Thanks for your advices.
Marcello

Very suitable at 92-94 dB/watt. In Sammut's opinion
the driver needs a larger box.

Hello Marcello,
I have a friend, who was a high end dealer. His choice for speakers is a set of 15" HPDs powered by a version of the Zen, made for him by a friend. It sounds very, very good, driven directly from an Accuphase CDP and goes surprisingly loud for such a small amp. His speakers are in a very large solidly built enclosure, not the original Tannoy resonant box.

Here are three very good Tannoy resources:

http://users.bigpond.com/tunnelgap/Tannoy/tannoy1.html which includes new enclosure specs by Alex Garner of Tannoy, plus lots of other stuff. Read the article by Peter Campbell about modifying his 15" Golds.

http://www.hilberink.nl/speaker.htm
Hans Hilberink's pages with lots of Tannoy data, modified enclosures and other designs. Hans is a very enthusiastic Tannoyista.

Active and friendly Tannoy enthusiast group.

Cheers
