Greetings.
I have upgraded my Pass Aleph 0s main caps from 39uFx2 per channel to 47uFx2 per channel. Sonic difference is interesting, but It seems the protection fuse (slow 2A, since current is 220V) gets burned quite often when I power it up. If it doesn't burn when turning the power on, it holds on during the listening sesion. Would it be safe to replace the 2A fuse by a 3A one? Thanks! |

It all depends on the current running through the amp.
First higher value is 2.5A and that is what I would try, assuming everything else is OK inside the amplifier. /Hugo

........or you could use a second thermistor to keep the inrush current down a bit.

Are you talking about internal or external fuse?
If it's the one inside, them I am not sure, but I have used 5A fuses for the external plugs(BS type plugs) and they are O.K. I have observed that the Aleph Os drws current consistently somewhere between 3.5-4.2A during music playback. So maybe 2A or 3A fuses are too under spec? The manual recomends 6A fuses. |
