Le t me list out what my system consists of:
CD source = Marantz CD17KI going to a DIY Matisse Fantasy Tube Preamp and then into an Aleph 3 powering a pair of Snell Acoustics Type J/III. I have a 1kVa Powertrans and 2 units of DIYed powerline filters using Lambda devices. My question would be where would the powertrans go to get the best use of? I am thinking that the Aleph does not even need any special quality powercord (as in the manual), I guess the powertrans is not going to make too much diference. My Matisse preamp is a regulated power supply and I am wondering if the powertrans would bring it to another level, or should I just use it for the CD source? Does a powertrans helps out very much in a CD source? Suggestions and advice please to a newbie. Regards.

Usually we reserve AC line regulation and/or treatment for
the lower powered stuff, but try it and see what you think. |
