Hi Nelson,
Comments on thread in SS "Nak PA7 clone"? I don't know how much you had to do with this, but your insight on this amp would be welcome. Please reply in that thread if you will. Thanks, -Chris |

Thanks lgreen, I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I guess it would help if I had a good look around.

I don't know how to do a link either, else I would use it
occasionally. I don't have much to add to that circuit - it's issues were worked out in detail over a number of years. The last (and best) front end version I dealt with was not generally released and can be found as thr_fe90.tif on www.passlabs.com/np It is incorrect to think I had issues with the Nakamichi product, and it is also incorrect to think the circuit required matched parts. These days I recommend CRC or CLC supplies for any of those circuits.

Hi Nelson,
Thanks for clearing that up. It's always best getting information first hand. There is consideration in the other thread about cloning the PA7, or something similar. Some guidance from you may help the other members. Possibly making an even better amp. I don't think the power rating was the most critical factor here, lower would be okay. For what it's worth, I liked these amps and own a Nak TA-2 (tiny version in a rcvr). A small version might be a good first time project. -Chris |
