The Pearl uses passive RIAA eq., whereas the Aleph Ono and Xono use active eq. To the best of my knowledge, the Xono is not "X."
Using electrolytics is sometimes necessary if you want more than just a few uF. It becomes impractical to fit several hundred uF of film capacitance into a reasonable chassis, not to mention the fact that the cost of the parts quickly becomes dominated by the cost of the film caps. Do they make a difference? Absolutely. Are they always the best answer in the real world? Unfortunately, no.

It's interesting to see in the review the test of output current capability. Only 9 A i max and in some circles it _very_ important with 50-100 A.

Some people claim that 100 A out is very important, some that "snubbers" are important, others that .... und so weiter.

The translation is ready now.

All in all it was positive opinions from the test panel altough with a couple of reservations which can be found in the review.

UltraAudio, from the SoundStage Network, have posted a glowing review of the XA160.
