BC550C works instead of ZTX450 in my Zen V2.
I want to try BD139 in a test Version of V2 next, with lower resistor values in the current source, and cascoded gain transistor. |

I'm using MPSA 42 instead of ZTX450. It's work OK !
The only problem maybe, that the VBE voltage is not 0.66V, but it's higher (about 0.77V). The result is a higher bias accros the Q1 and Q2. best regards, Leon

Ups...
And about Mosfet ZVP3310A. I'm using IRF9620 and work OK. IRF9610 is better than IRF9620. IRF9520 is also good choise. There is no problem with part, maybe the capacitors (quality and values) are quite important. My version of ZEN v4 works great. best regards, Leon

The 9610 worked OK, but I did get better performance
with the ZVP3310. If you lower the impedance of the feedback loop, you can even this up a bit. |

Hi,
Sorry to bring this up again, but I am having an hard time to get ZVP3310's. So I will be using IRF9610. My questions are: - Does the Zen V4 works with IRF9610 without any modifications? - What changes shall I make to optimise it: Quote from NP: "If you lower the impedance of the feedback loop, you can even this up a bit." How can this be done? (ie. parts values please) Thanks. |

From what I heard a BS250 mosfet will also work. Please note that I heard this, I have not the slightest experience with Zen products.

hi df,
have you made any changes in the feedback loop as Nelson says? |
