Default Temperature Controller

I have no connection with these things, BUT they look like a cool (haha) way to monitor the temp of heatsinks of a big ole Class A amp. It will turn on fans at different temperatures, so you could set fans for each of a pair of heatsinks, then have 2 more come on if the temp continues to rise. Also alarms sound if a fan dies! It comes in a 4 or 8 channel version. It runs on 12 volts, so might work with an X amp- otherwise you might need an additional power supply. Its even pretty decent looking for a computer part.

Here's their spiel:

Black Digital Doc 5 Thermal Monitor!
More and more PC users are diving into the overclocking and tweaking side of the PC world. Others go to the very extremes of this cool art, while others prefer to play it safe and push it just a little to get that "rush". No matter which group of overclockers you belong to, the side effect of this art is basically the same. HEAT! Something we all hate and some, fear! At least when it comes to overclocking that is! MacPower realizes this and came out with what they call the Digital Doc. The Digital Doc is a device which can monitor the temperature of various components in your PC and at the same time, provide power to up to 8 cooling fans in your PC. The Digital Doc can also warn you of any abnormalities, like high temperatures or fan failures so that you can take remedial actions before your PC goes bust!

The Digital Doc 5 supports up to 8 fans and can monitor 8 separate temperatures. 2 flat head thermistors and 6 bulb type thermistors are included for the temperature readings. A bunch of screws is provided to secure the device into your case drive bay and also some tape for the thermistors. Excellent and comprehensive installation and operating instructions are included on a CD-ROM in the form of a .pdf file which can be viewed and/or printed out.

On e-bay this is their handle: eagepc*com
