I wonder if the Usher R-1.5, R-2.5, R-2.8 and R-3.0 amps that look almost identical to older Threshold designs, are buildt on license from Mr. Nelson Pass or if they are copies.

The similarities are purely optical. Electronically, they are completely different.

I did a review on the R 1.5 - definitely not a Stasis amp.

Here is the Usher, and next post is the Stasis, i've worked on the Usher and it's quality and build is exceptional. The only thing is that they run them at half the class A bias that Nelson did. I suppose that considering where they come from (Asia) it's practical not to have a hot idling amp. I own the Threshold S300 mkII optical and the Usher is very close, i'd say they may have paid for the Stasis licence.

do you know the answer on my other post where I ask if my X350 lacks power? Dag

Nelson should be able to answer that better than i can, (and he will he never misses a beat) but that is one serious nasty load at 30hz, wonder what the phase angle is also at that frequency, i've heard that some of the higher end Infinitys were a real b**** to drive especially the earlier RS4.5's and such.

OK, I am waiting for him to see and reply to my post, do you know how long I should expect to wait before I rephrase the heading and post it again?
Dag
