Default Krell X Amps????????

I juat noticed that Krell is now calling theor amps the X series amps. Have they licensed this from Pass Labs or is this just some gimmick?

They're not "X" in the sense that we use the term. It's just a letter that sounds better than "B" or 'U" in terms of naming things. In other words, they ain't "SUSY," Dan has cast his fate in with the varying class A thing (digitally controlled) and will not bother with feedback schemes.

To me it seems like ole danny boy is simply trying to capitalize off Nelson's sucess with his(real) X amps .

dan's 'X' circuitry comes from his master reference amplifier.1 kw into 8 ohms,double into 4,fully balanced from input to output, 120 bipolar devices per monobloc etc.I read about it around 1998,the same magazine had some info on the pass x---- series.
