hi to all! back again with my bride of Zen!
i'don't manage to find a solution to the problem regarding the volume control at the output of Bride of Zen... first, i tried using a dual 5k log potentiometer.. but the result is wasn't good. the difference between channel impedances (about 100-200 ohms, depending the position of the knob) result in a BIG differnce between the channels. one playing very loud, and the other almost silent. so i mounted a 10 k linear pot at the input, to have a balance control between the channels, but at every volume change, i have to rebalance the system... tonight i've just mounted a 'Fake' log pot using a 10k linear one in parallel with 2x 1K8 ohm 1% precision resistors, but the difference between channels rises to a maximum of 1.6 Kohms! i just hope the ratio between channel impedances would be constant...anyone solved this problem, and if so, how? Greetings from California darkstar666,
I am also building a bosoz. as far as the volume control selection, try looking up the thread from skaara titled " balanced volume control" most of your questions should be answered there. I will be trying a 6 gang 10k precision pot I got from a local surplus electronics store. most seem to like the stepped attenuator. I would include a link to skaara's thread but I have not figured that one out yet. Good luck with your project, eanders |

thank you a lot!
i'think to build the volumer control using linear 'faked' conductive plastic potentiometers. as i've experimented, the difference between channels remains quite constant over the whole turning of the pot.. DarkstaR |
