hi
first for a good power follower you need a
ccs (constant courant source) not just
a source resistor
and the best driver is a tube driver with
very low zout 50 ohm in my case

maybe more explication
a source follower with ccs is very good :
gain=1
low distorsion without feedback
good widthband
but the sound is very neutral and to get a good
amplifier you need to add some personality to
the sound
a good way is tube (triode not pentode) with
even harmonics
don t forget if you go with transfo you need a equivalent
low zout 100 ohm max. to drive your output follower
but for me sorry double follower= double neutral sound

This approach looks similar to this underDear Nelson and friends,
please see this attachment, does this topology works properly.anybody have experiance in this circuit.please have a look at this

A lot depends on the quality of the transformer, especially when the gain
is going to be 10:1, and you want to have a low impedance driving the primary.
