No, it's not a new version of aleph 4; I finished my second pair of 1.2's and now it's 4*1.2

And I thought your first pair of 1.2s was impressive, silly me.
Is that the same 2500VA trafo you had on the other ones? I see 20 transistors per channel (24??) they must weigh a ton, Nice work!! JH |

Thanks for the comments.
Mark, Daddy's playroom in my house has its own dedicated 35A power lines and is connected directly to the power grid, not through the rest of the house. As for the neighborhood, who cares??? JH, Yes the trafo is the same 2.5KVA - split bobin type. You are right, I'm using 10 mosfets per side biased @ 600 mA each. There is no problem, they can handle the power. As for the weight, trafo+heatsinks alone for each amp = 60 Kgr. Add to this 20 electrolytics, 2 industrial 4*25A power relays, 1 IXYS 56A rectifier bridge, 6 solid bronze feet etc. etc. and the only way to move the amps around is to put them on wheels. But the sound is worth the weight!!! My Dynaudios are singing. Nick
