Default Panasonic FC in Aleph P

Hi,
I've changed PSU 1000uf caps in my Aleph P from Elna to Panasonic FC. Not the caps directly after the rectifier, but the caps around regulator (before and after IRF9610).
So, they are 63V. One cap is working on 60VDC and the other one is working on 64VDC. Is it safe to have this electrolytic cap working 1V above rated working voltage. I can't find any info on this subject.
Thanks!

Hi,

well it is not done normally but there´s always a safety margin in the specs. I think it will take the volt without any problem. Does it get very hot where it is?

There's always lots of margin in these parts. I wouldn't
think twice about going 10% over in a DIY project.

Yes.. but what if the mains vary with as much?... Mine go between 210V-235V? (the line are exceptionaly poor I grant you that but still..)

Overvoltaging capacitors would probobly not constitute a problem if those caps are on the regulated side of the rails but in general..

I forgot to mention that everything is working fine. The cap didn't explode... Voltage here is also unstable, BUT at the time I measured DC coming to critical Panasonic cap, the voltage was around 235V. I think it will be OK.

I see I have nothing to worry about.
Thanks guys!

I have bought Panasonic FC capacitors for my amplifier but i have noticed that they have steel leads.
At this moment i am curious if this is a problem with audio?

Maybe someone can comment on this.

Edwin.

Hi Edwin,

since lots of people like the panasonic FC (me included) I don´t think this is a big problem. Unless you are afraid of rust of course
