I currently have a less than optimal setup- running my SACD (I only use stereo) through a Harmon Kardon Home Theater amp's pre-amp outputs into my power amp - basically using the HK as a volume control. I would like to eliminate the HK using one of the following options:
1. Build BOSOZ
2. Build stepped attenuator
Question is... do you think that the SACD can drive my amp sufficiently, or would the BOSOZ yield significant improvemnet because of the capacitive load of the power amp??
Or, does anybody have a better idea that I have not considered.

Sony SACD 222ES - output 2.0 V p-p 10kOhms
Power Amp:
B&K ST 125.2 - input impedance 33.2K Ohms
Mods... first mods I've ever done.
-Solen 10uF input caps (replacing electrolytics)
-More higher capacitance and more filtering in powersupply

This is probably a bit subjective. I personally like the BOSOZ between a CD source and the amp. My own experiences have been that the BOSOZ smooths the harshness of digital sources while providing attenuation.
I have a Marantz CD63SE with an Adcom GDA700 DAC. Directly connecting the CD player and then the DAC directly to the amp worked well, but I greatly preferred the BOSOZ between the source and the amp.
The Bosoz is not expensive to build and can easily be built using point to point wiring. I used NO exotic components except for "Wonder wire" from http://www.PercyAudio.com. Also used a single transformer for both channels. 160VA Y236506 or 120VA Y236457, the 160VA is overkill. http://www.avellindberg.com/transformers/y23_range_specs.htm
