I'm rather fond of that design, too. Has anyone experimented with newer semiconductors to build it?

I like the bias control circuit.

Supposing I were to set out to build one today... what would you recommend for semiconductors? (If this is the topic of a future article or book, I guess I'll hold on...)

I like the locations of the fuses.

It is admirable that the A40 was published just a bit over a year later, i learned a lot from the elaborate article.

Ihave a large quantity of 2n3773 and 2n6609
so I might build one.
