Hi,
I like the dip for paralleling resistors to R19. Why don´t you make another one for R21? This way you can change bias and ac-current-gain very fast. William

wuffwaff,
Thanks. Actually the dip switch is optional and I intended not to use it – just to drill the holes. At the beginning I thought it was wise, but after that I decided to use bigger heat sinks and not to change the bias during summers. I have Odin (MTM) speakers, which are relatively heavy load. So I’d prefer higher bias. But thanks for the idea. Maybe I’ll manage to put an optional R21 parallel resistor using the same dip switch. Regards Asen |

BTW, in the first versions there was one more dip switch that was intended to disconnect the four protection zener-diodes after connecting the cables. I wanted the zeners out of the circuit when operating because of possible negative effects. After that I gave up this idea too.

Great layout.
You should expand it so that it can be used as an Aleph2 (60) ...........Group buy anyone? Regards, Jam |

Thanks jam. If there’s somebody interested I can send him (her) the Eagle files. It won’t be difficult to be rearranged to Aleph 2. But I don’t sell PCBs. So, no group orders. No orders at all. I just want comments. Especially comments that would show me mistakes or bring me improvements.
I have better looking versions of the layout but this one is with the shortest signal paths. Regards |

Ansen,
I like your layout and am considering a version (self etched) for an aleph 30 I would like to build. Assuming you don't mind my 'copying' some of your layout, could you tell me the intended size of the board for scaling. Quote:

mpmarino,
The PCB is 13/9 cm. Sorry but where I live we don't use inches. Regards |

Asen,
I have a question on your layout. You are showing a 1uf capacitor in parallel with Z5. I do not see this on Mr. Pass's schematic. What is it's purpose? I am probably missing something.... Thanks, Marc |

@mpmarino - I think a very good explanation is hidden in "10 ways how to improve Aleph" topic ...
