Default X2 preamp problem...

I'm experiencing a problem with my X2 preamp. It would mute itself after about one-hour of music playing, but if you let it sit by it self for a few hours, it will play fine... for about another hour. When this happens, there's a slight mechanical hum from within the preamp (not from the speaker) and a few 'clicks'. Any help?
