OK, I took out the board, replaced the FET and now all is good. Thanks for the indulgence! Oh, I also noticed upon removal that the prior FET was cracked on its case; and that each pin was 0.0 ohms to each other pin. Lucky for me that this turned out to be relatively simple....unlike the problem I am having with the right channel.
