forgot to mention Greg etal whoever contributed to Aleph-X project and my friend Michael who helped me to make the group purchase of enclosures possible.
more spec 660VA transformer CRC pi filter 12 irf240, 4x68000uf capacitor per ch total bias 5A (limited by VR used for the time being) so 100+ watts ? |

Nice job Russell. You gave me some ideas. Did you have any of those chassis left for my damaged one?

correction: should be Grey !
After initial listening, sound pretty good, not even break-in yet Thanks Grey! Advice needed here DC offset probelm observerd: the DC offset is adjusted when amp stand alone, no problem at all (high absolute DC when cold, low when it is warm, relative DC is stable all the time 15mv to 40mv) But when the preamp (ARC LS-3B) plus in, the relative DC go up to 0.9 V when it is cold and down to 80mv-150mv when it is warm. Any suggestion ? 1. adjust DC offset with Pre plugged in ? not preferred 2. does the additional DC from the pre-amp ? how to block it ? Thanks! |

As for whether DC is coming out of your preamp, you'll have to determine that on your end. You can put DC blocking caps in the inputs of the Aleph-X and it will stop anything coming in from that end.
