Ian, I'm using MicroCap 7 evaluation.

The software itself is expensive, but the evaluation version is very sensible. Allows 50 components (not nodes!!!). So it's possible to simulate quite a few things with it. It is also great for schematic input and it accepts standard SPICE models.

Also great are the help scripts that get you going in no time

Here's a bit simplified version. Got rid of the active servo circuit.

If you guys have any more good ideas which way to go with this idea, then feel free to share them...
