This is a passive preamp that you can adjust depending on your source, cables and amplifier.

Looks like you have the makings of a great web site.

The article is great but considering the variables you are dealing with, would it not be simpler to follow the volume control with a simple buffer and dispense with the tweaking required to get a flat frequency response?

The idea is not to make it active. Anyway I am an active preamplifier fan because it is more dynamic. I have made the passiv though and it is a good idea. It just has to many problems in compare with the positive side of it.
