O.K., I've acquired all of the parts and I've already stuffed one board. Here's the questions:
1. I kept getting a cold solder joint on one of the .47uf film caps and I hope I didn't burn it-up trying to re-solder it. I checked the cap for shorts and it seems to be fine. Should I light this candle? 2. The heatsinks (per channel) are approx. 1ftx1ftx1.75". I also have two 1/4" thick 10"x10" milled-aluminum cover plates per channel (these are monoblocks.) The cover plates are vented just below and above the pcb. Am I wasting my time or should I think bigger? 3. I bypassed the .1uf cap to ground on the AC side and used an 10amp EMI filter instead; good idea? 4. There's going to be quite a run of internal hookup wire on both my inputs and outputs inside the chassis. Should that wire be grounded. Should I use solid core or stranded?? Thanks guys (or girls) |

1. Yes.
2. This sounds big enough. 3. Sure, why not? 4. I use stranded, but only for flexibility and to avoid metal fatigue when the wire is flexed. |
