Threshold Stasis 3, too
Hallo,
thank Nelson for the information on power bipolar transistor. An other little question: subject: Threshold statis 3 How may mA on positive rail of bias current with input grounded? Is this the method to measure it? thank you for the attention Rosario |
stasis 2
hi
we've just finished the rejuvenation of a Stasis 2 amp, after much trouble with oscillations; however everything fits in place now. we have biased the amp at approx. 0.650 mA total idle current, which gives a temperature of the fins at about 40° C. near the PCB, that is at the back of the amp; as Nelson once wrote me , it is hot but not painfull to touch!! we measure bias at the fuse holder on B- rail, hope this helps more if you need ciao |
Just set up the unit to run at the desired temperature.
While you are at it, please consider replacing the cheap shitty single turn potentiometer with a nice 10 turn one. It will make it infinitely easier til set it up. Beware that the unit will drift so when you have it set, you need to check the temperature frequently as you build it up from zero. Petter |
