Kind time of day!
I am sorry for English - made the translator.
At me such question - why all power units, whether it be Aleph or Aleph-X, are made only with use of the big capacities for reduction of pulsations of a voltage, you see there are the circuits containing transistors which allow to reduce at smaller capacity pulsations better, than application of the big condensers is simple?

There´s no reason to not use a capacitance multiplier to either improve PSU ripple or get by with less capacitance.
Just remember you´ll burn a few volts extra and so need bigger heatsinks (and transformer).
This kind of regulator is also described in a Passlabs article :
Have a look at the Zen Variations Part 3 here.

Why not indeed?

A and T Labs 1kW SMPS
Hi all!
Has anybody actually built the A and T Labs 1kW SMPS design, either DIY or from the parts their supply?
I Googled for "A and T Labs" and all I found basically, apart from their site and a few casual mentions, was business directory listings. I couldn't find any mention on the web of somebody having built their amps or SMPS designs.
Positive or negative experiences welcome!
Cheers
