Because of they are expensive parts i only want to buy which can be uses and sold easily. I will use some of them for myself and friend and sell other pcs.

These are designed for switching use. I tested some for linear
operation and found them disappointing.

Part of the disappointment was the low SOA. I had some dying as low as 20 watts
in DC operation.

Before plowing on further, I have to ask - If you don't mind, what was the other part?
The ones I have are United Silicon Carbide UJ3N065080K3S

I should be more precise.

AFAIK the UJN parts are reliable, but the linear performance of the ones
I tested was not particularly good.

The Cascode parts from Transphorm failed at 24V/2A, and looking at the
data sheet I did not see a DC SOA figure, only switching.

A similar issues have come up with some high power "hockey puck" power
transistors, referred to as "electrothermal instability".

So for starters I recommend being careful of parts that don't have a DC
figure on their SOA curves. The rest is just about whether they show
decently low distortion in audio use.

Do you have a recommended max PD for the Pucks? I'm playing with those too.

I can confirm that if you run them outside the DC safe operating area they
will croak rather quickly.

Apart from that, I don't believe we have lost any on XA-25's.

The data sheet sez 700 watts at 25 deg C case temperature.

Hello everyone,
UnitedSiC has some quite new JFETS on offer (and the older UJN120xK discontinued), see SiC JFETs | United Silicon Carbide Inc.. I'm looking at the UJ3N065025K3S, a 650V/25mOhm SiC JFET which may be had for ~40 USD at Mouser. It has "a DC
figure on their SOA curve".

Anyone have an opinion on these? Thank you.

Interfet IFN146

Provided the Interfet IFN146 and the IFN147 are real equivalents for the Toshiba 2SK146 it is still a sad state of affairs that the p-channel 2SJ73 and 2SJ72 are not availlable at Interfet as equivalents.

I chose the UJ3N065080K3S, easier to drive and not as wild - check pages 3 & 4 of the datasheets; also about half the price.
