I was thinking about cutting away the wood base to follow the heatsinks ‘V’ to allow more convection air flow. Currently, they reach 55°C at the top of sink.

cur entire wood protruding/terrace :rofl: ....... leave just a notch for baseplate of htsnk(5mm or so)

do few slits (router) on bottom plate ....... do same on top plate

it'll be hot in case , when closed ; heatsink is hot at back side ....

I cut back the base to expose heat sink fins and temperatures dropped
from 55°C to 47°C :)
