Now that the SIT-1/2 is apparently out of production (at least
according to Reno-discontinued), will the schematic be available?

It seems to me that the schematics of these have been around for a long
time, in fact I think the owner's manual has enough detail. It's a very simple
circuit - the SIT is biased by either a CCS or some big resistors. Since you
don't have a SIT-1 transistor anyway, the exact resistor values and such
would not be very useful.

The basic circuit of the SIT-3 will accommodate other devices, and I intend
to make the circuit and the Sony VFETs available for DIY. This will be
a Common-Drain application. Those who want Common-Source should
look at projects already in this forum.

Thanks.

It seems like the essential difference between SIT-1 and SIT-3 is the presence of the transformer in the SIT-3 -- would this give more of an "M2" sound to the SIT-3 compared with SIT-1?

I was going to get a SIT-1 from Reno but Mark talked me into the J2 and it sounds so great ... but I have a stash of N100 and R085 ... so could theoretically build my own ... I guess I'd have to build a J2ish and then buy a SIT-1 ...
