I put together some Penultimate Zen amps. I’ve been testing the first one, and it oscillates at 160kHz.
I tried messing with C12 (feedback capacitor) from 0 to 100pF. Not much help. I haven't tried removing feedback altogether, though (removing R3 and C12). Any ideas? |

Any Mosfet should have at least 221 ohms in series with
the Gate before it looks at anything else, or it will fly away. Also, look at the capacitor associated with the NPN transistor. If the current source is allowed to be too fast, it can cause a similar problem, as this contains a certain amount of positive feedback. |
