Default 2sk77b and 2sk180 new projects

At Firstwatt Nelson has said that he has an upcoming project or 2 that use these rather rare devices. I wouldn't mind picking up a pair of the 2sk180 devices if I only knew a cheap yet reliable source. Anyone have a source for them that they recomend ?

You may find a member here who has some and is willing to part with them... As for commercial sources? I doubt anybody has any. (I could be wrong...)

They are 40yr old, single supplier, low production devices. Unobtanium is not much of an exaggeration.

I purchased 2SK180's from Sun-Pec.com

They delivered as promised and I'm pretty sure they are genuine, but I haven't
had the chance to play with them yet.

www.datasheets360.com has the spec on it.

2SK77B's, I don't know where you'll find them unless you know the guy who
owns Digital Do Main. I got a few as a gift.

Unfortunately the site:
Sun-Pec.com
states (this morning) to be back from October 2014 on....
THF-50 seems useable on first sight, but is it available? For what price?
Regards,
Ulrich

Default Good morning,

Hi Dear Michael, Did you tried how it behaves in place of 2SK180 and 77b?
Best Regards

Dear Michael,
although I most part of the day have to struggle with (aeronautics) work issues, I set up a 2SK82 based SE amp working at relative high voltages (OP around 140V/0.2A). Seems to work quite ok, with the first stage being tube driven. Output wattage is ok, but...
I'm therefore interested to move towards either even higher voltages or higher currents. (Checked you video with the 180's curves..)
Would it be possible to ask for one or even two pairs of 2SK180's? Maybe a PM would be appropriate ?
Many thanks in advance and please accept my apologies in case I misunderstood your post.
All the best,
Ulrich

I have the 2Sk180s's. I've tried them in a few different circuits. L'Amp sort of stuff.

You can find curves on my website. Audiohobby.com | DIY Audio Projects & More

I have no experience with the 77's or 77B's. They're like unicorns.

@ui2

I was replying to woody's inquiry. I don't think I have enough beyond that. But, I'll check later.
