SE Common source power buffer(ish), a lot of degeneration?

Hello there,

What happens if I use very high source impedance in a F2-ish amp? Say 10 ohm or more? The idea would be to make a very low distortion single ended current buffer with high output impedance.

I guess I could do a feedback loop around it but that's too complicated hence the idea of just using more degeneration ;)

The big question is: would a lot of degeneration do more evil than good and reduce output power or something else or would it be feasible to do?

Also, as 10 ohm source resistors would burn a lot of watts the idea would be to bypass the resistor with an inductor to lower the DC resistance so we don't waste as many watts. The amp only needs to handle 300 and upwards so I can ignore the fact that the gain / degeneration would be inconsistent at lower frequencies.

And the final question, is this just crazy or would it work?
