What to DO ? [Switching etc... between amp's]
Hi all here.
Maybe this is not the right forum to ask ? Moderators please feel free to move my thread!
For the last few years, i have been using my cloneAmp for everyday listening.
I have in meantime been in progress of making a FW F5, and an Aleph J.
The PCB's i have been swapping in and out, while along with my son (16years with good ears) endlessly been listening to music, comparing the two amps; Finally choosen the Aleph J to be the best for our ears.
As to see on the (Sry. bad quality) picture, i have my CloneAmp, which i want to use for Radio/ everyday background music, and when in mood for it, i will like to have the possibility to turn on the magnificent aleph J.
I have been thinking about howto make this, as smart as possible, also taking into account, that my preamp has to be turned on, before one of the poweramps; and at endsession, the poweramp must be turned of before/sametime as the preamp to avoid noise/clicks.
I feel for some of these solutions ::
* Automatic poweron BOX -Time delayes between 230vac outlets.
* 5 or 12 or 24 ? Vdc Trig, which must trig a powerrelay inside each amp?
This is something i dont know of!
* Input signal sensing - Have to poweron, and maybee turn a spkrelay
inside amp's on ??
But what about speakerconnections on amps ?
Will the automatic have to switch off/on the speaker output, for avoiding conflicts between the two amps? -And if, do i have to cut both +out and GND?
I really like suggestions for this... Hoping that i can have some kind of inspiration for this funny project.
At last i like to tell, that i know about TTL/Logics, relay ladders, howto make pcb, and common sense when dealing with Line voltage
Thank you all for keeping this great forum alive!

This is interesting for me too.
Because i have a everyday amp (yamaha) and a pass chain for better listening. But in near futur only one pair of speaker.
Relais or Switch at speakercable? will it affect the sound quality. Some people dont want realays from speaker protection in signal way because of sound qualtity and i will have it at my cable?
thanks for suggestion

I finally made some progress in my little project here.
It's really nothing special.
The idea here, is that the relays are off, until 9vdc is powered into the little pcb, on top of the 24vdc (+/-/gnd pass) PSU.
When 9vdc is applied, and there is a timer (NE555), waiting approx. 8sec. before closing the relays, for the speaker output inside aleph J amp.
My idea was, to make my preamp sent 9vdc on a extra cable (aka' trigger cable), so a remote poweron of amp./speaker is made.
Anyway, i don't know for sure yet, if i will make an option for bypassing the 9vdc cable, making it possible to turn on the amp, without remote 9vdc supply ???
Is it somehow easy to "tap" of a 9vdc out of the pass psu here ???
