Some say, Pass Labs busy a lot. So I will post here.
V-FET (SIT) amplifier production
I heard a long time ago SIT has characteristics similar to the tube, L-CAO from Zhongshan, China now has developed a low-power V-FET (SIT), I was fortunate to get L-CAO free V-FET.Recommended by site friends-Niu Gur (? - ??? - Powered by phpwind).
Today I buy a pair of 7.5K:300 from the Taobao's tube headphone amplifier output transformers,(Lopent乐潘, Standard系列单端耳放输出变压器S-E101,正式发售(188元/对) - 乐潘电子 - 品牌专卖区 - 胆艺轩音响材料网 音响|交易|电子管|胆机|胆机网站|胆机论坛|胆机材料| 涑雠变压器|电源牛|电阻|电容)For the V-FET preamp amplifier

Use existing components, DIY a SIT tone control circuitry.
I've never heard such a sound, I don't know how to describe it, is called a novel sound.
Have a sound spring is enough feeling, this voice is not annoying.

Adjust some parameters.
Remove the voltage regulator,
Q1 bias resistors,
51 ohms in parallel in the Q2 source.

V-FET (SIT) amplifier production
Looks offhand like the part can dissipate about 2.5W, so you can consider
biasing it at higher current and/or voltage to improve the performance.
