whare to place the volume potentiometers in my system and what the value?

About the: " vol pot as late in the "system""
I don’t understand, why all the home receiver put the pot after the pre-op-amp and do not put it late before the power transistor stage?
1.)the DAC not overload the opamp, the opamp HPF is like in the datasheet.
2.)the pot is 20k 2W, I don’t think that the opamp have problem to "see" 5k-20k, the only thing is that the F5 "see" in the input the pot instead of 47K, but ZM said is good.

can the vol pot drive the cable and the F5?

Most vol pots cannot do this properly because they cannot supply sufficient current to charge and discharge the capacitance they feed into.
This rolls off the treble early and can be heard. It can certainly be measured.
