With the huge heatsinks I could push the bias up a bit - any recommendations ?
Increase the bias step by step and keep track of the heatsink temperature. Stop when the temperature gets too high or when you reach 1.3 A per fet. Whatever happens first (it will most likely be the temperature) .

Specifically post #18 summarised some variations for the F5 source and feedback resistors that I hadn't seen before. I haven't tried the changes on mine (yet) but it might be worth considering if you find the stock F5 too clinical...

I would say the problem is using B-1 w/ F-5. Never cared for that combo except with high efficiency speakers. I Put the B-1 on a 6550 P-P tube amp, and used a tube pre with gain on the F-5....problem solved. For me. It needs gain to bloom. (with less efficient speaks.)
