This may be a silly question, but thought I would ask. I've looked through the old threads and couldn't really find an answer. Will the BOSOZ work with pretty much any power amp? When I build it I will be using an NAD c370, which the power section is the same as the 270 power amp. Eventually I plan on building amps, but just wanted to make sure it would work in the mean time

yes it will,
as long as the input impedance is large enough for your planned output impedance. william

The imput impedance of the NAD is 20k ohms

The one and only

One more time:
Both Boz and Sboz are current source outputs, and are resistively shunted to ground. As a practical matter, for any given input voltage, they will drive even a short with the same amount (actually a little less) of distortion. |

Honestly, I'm really learning this ee, slowly. Here is another one im sure has been discussed, but I can't seem to find threads on; what are the implications of adding multiple outputs on the bosoz? I could use two, or even three sets of outputs, and want to afford the possiblity of an active crossover in the future

Hi, multiple outputs are fine, I just wired mine up this morning, two balanced and two SE outputs on my BOSOZ; everything in parallel. I don't plan on using them all at the same time, but its nice to have options.
You searched? Did you see the discussion here: Dual outputs for Balanced Line Stage Preamp Note my answer for other things to look out for. |

No, I'm sorry, I missed that one, thank you.

Kevyjo,
just make shure that your output caps are big enough. The lower the input impedance of your power amp the higher the -3dB point from the high pass will be. william

As far as I understand it, the input impedance of the SOZ is only about 5k ohms, if the output capacitance is designed to handle that, Id think it'd do fine with 20k ohms

No , the Son of Zen has the imput impedance YOU will care to use, even higher than 5K. Just choose the resistors you like. |
