The Ebay link might not work. If not, go to eBay and do a search on "Pass Labs". The rip-off is being offered by RFW Radio (RFWA1 eBay name) from Australia.

(I hope he's not a friend of yours, Mellon Head.....

And so, I sent an eBay message to the gent selling the "home-made" "First Watt F5" on eBay. Here's what I typed:

From: canamman00

Subject: Other: canamman00 sent a message about F5 AMPLIFIER #271205898255

Dear rfwa1,Aren't you--and your prospective buyers--concerned about copywrite and trademark infringements, and intellectual property violations, regarding your marketing of Nelson Pass DIY and First Watt designs? My understanding is Mr. Pass (and First Watt) expressly have made their designs available to those making these amps for their own personal enjoyment, and not for commerical resale. "

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And here was his "not so fair dinkum" response:

" Dear canamman00,

Mr Keep ur understanding and Imagination in ur brain. I use DIY original PCB and all as genuine just help to ppl who can not build amplifiers. and I do this as a hobby and not to **** live on this since I am an Radio communication Engineer in mining industry I have enough income to have luxury life. Dont waste ur time mind own bsns.- rfwa1 "

---------------------------------------------------------------

(Isn't this gent a great representative of the audio DIY community, and Pass designs?)

The rewards of addressing the large numbers of really great people in this
endeavor far outweigh the few negative examples.
