I am trying to wire up a Jfet BOZ point to point w/a SMPS or battery PS.

Does this look like a good way to do it? Do I need the PS caps?

Thanks!

It would be wise to insert some resistance between the PS + terminal and the caps on each channel. Perhaps 100 ohms at 1W. The caps should be close to the circuitry for each channel. Some SMPS don't like big capacitors (>1000uF) on the output. They become unstable.

Merlin:

I noticed in your sig you have a B1 and a Jfet boz.

I just finished an F5 and I am finding it responds better to hot sources (like CD) and doesn't like my vinyl setup. I am using a passive pre with a 25K pot. CD sounds better than vinyl w/the F5...which pisses me off.

Vinyl sounds better through the MC section of a phono amp (I have a HOMC cart) confirming my suspicion than the F5 likes high input voltage/gain.

Thus I want to build a Jfet boz.

What's your experience been?
