I would like to have your opinion on this subject. Is it a good idea to install ventilators on my J2?

The heatsinks on mine run very warm, but it was designed to run that way. If the fan noise doesn't bother you, I don't see a down side to some extra airflow. Perhaps the power supply capacitors will live longer.

My heatsinks ran borderline hot, so I bought two 120mm 120v low speed fans and a speed controller cable by AC INFINITY from Amazon; modified the controller cable to accept a cube tap, plugged the fans into the cube tap, set the fans on either side of the amp and now the fins get no hotter than tepid. The fans are not audible from two feet.
