Default Pass Pearl 2 / recommended power supplies

Hi there,
Im just planning to build a Pass Pearl 2 and am wondering which power supply to use. Is the AMB Sigma 11 a good solution or can I get the same results by using a simpler one.
Many thanks and best,
Rents

if you're going in to trouble of building dedicated PSU , then go to shunt reg route

It is pretty easy to do the PSU as Wayne shows in his PDF on the passdiy.com website using point to point wiring. I had a spare diode board from the diyaudio.com store Universal PSU board. The rest was wire, solder, terminal blocks, wire nuts, hot glue to secure the big caps.

Also there is minor error in the PSU diagram. See attached from 6L6. Missing ground between bridges.

just realized that you're asking again about Sigma

they're series regs

that isn't what I recommended

if going that way - just make original Pearl PSU

I am building simple unregulated CRC filter for on-board 7824/7924 series regulators of Pearl-2 board. Using MUR8xx diodes with 22-0-22 r-core transformer.

Unregulated PS-V-02-pcb.png

This is very basic and generic power supply. Component values could be experimented for different caps and resistances.
