Default Source resistor choice Carbon film or Metal Oxide? brand in specific?

was going through the doc and found that carbon film is a good choice over the wirewound resistor

i dont have the data for the metal oxide resistor. Is it better than carbon film?

which is the best resistor and what make is good Dale?
