ZM, no, but I hoped you would! :-)

Toufu, here is an aleph 30 schematics http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/attac...-algar_emi.pdf (use this of find a service manual for 30) and there is one with both BrianGT and original notation above. So you can compare what need to be change. Another -- see about the output boards above as well.

Why did you take the zvp3310 and not the irf9610?
Is there any advantage?

Main reason was — I could get them marched from h_a with IRF244. There are couple of posts on the forum where people compare them with 9610 and say they have better top-end, I guess because of lower input capacitance. However, the output characteristic plot looks better for 9610 (for my limited knowledge). Maybe someone can correct me.

the sound difference is heavy and in the direction PKI suggested......

I could never decide what I liked better........!

But if I had to decide for the lonely Island I would take the 9610 variant.....

With proper bias and AC gain adjustments I get plenty of tight and controlled bass from my amp.
I can't say about final cost of the project, I had to by tools, was constantly changing chassis design conception while building, because of that -- bought parts which I didn't use in the end, and so on...
The inner size of one chassis is 300x220x210mm(DxWxH). For other please check links above.

Just installed IRF9610 in the FE of my Aleph's. I have to admit, for my taste these transistors suit the amp's sound much better!

Thanks, h_a! ;-)
