Hi Einric

Have a quick look on eBay Rich.
You never know what you might see.
( the Ruskie's have got N I C E polystyrene's @ pocket-change prices )

The way I figure it...is...
...if you find a good-lot of 'something'...
...ie, a couple of dozen, of something cool...
like say a load of Polystyrenes cheap...
...get 'em and use 'em as bypasses EVERYWHERE.
Rectifiers, Tx secondary, PSU caps, Amp-board caps etc. etc.
If the voltage-rating is high enough...
...use 'em on the Tx primary as well.
X & Y class is 'official stuff' here...
...but high-voltage Polystyrenes are good to go...
...just NOT from phase to ground IMO.

It NEVER pays to buy a low-voltage rated bargain...
...cos then you can't potentialy use them in any 'tube gear' say, in the future.

You might even find some Polystyrenes could be good, here & there in your tube-stage...
...just a thought.

Bigger the better really...
...can always parallel up a few as well, of course.

I'm SICK of high-price RS Components, Farnell etc. here in the UK...
...I'm sure Mouser is just the same.
For my current projects...
...I've bought TOP-QUALITY parts, sometimes BETTER than a UK supplier...
...for WAY WAY less on eBay.
I'm having trouble drawing up an RS Components order these days...
...cos it all comin' from eBay.

Cheers.

Si.

This tape will self destruct in 5 seconds !

POW !

Why not ?

Depends what you buy...
...maybe.

Plenty of superb NOS caps available, no probs...
...the Ruskie stuff is simply 1st class...
...Mullard stuff from the 60s'...classic...
...Recent production, easily available as well.

Try and spend a bit more than 2 cents each...
...and a RESULT is there for the taking.

BOO JAH !

Cheers.

Si.
