Pass Labs X0 and Notch Filter
This may be a question for Wayne or Nelson.
I have built a flat open baffle speaker with Orthophase wide band drivers (later to be mated above 5K by ESS Heil AMTs), and I am trying to eliminate the obnoxious peak you see below:
Using components I have, I was able to build the notch filter below (centered at 2.5K instead of 2.7K).
The mystery is the following, when I plug this circuit between the Pass Labs X0 Tape Out and Tape In the result is really bad:
- Very dim sound
- Seems to filter out everything, no bass just trebles
When I plug the same circuit between the output of my DAC (Studer D424) and the Pass Labs X0 Tape In, it seems to work close to what is expected (I have not done precise measurements or listening yet).
What can cause the circuit not to work using the loop Tape Out Tape In of the Pass Labs X0?
I tried the same operation with my fathers Audio Research Ref 1 and it worked fine, so I assume it is a load or impedance issue?
How can I solve this without a nasty Op Amp?
