In an attempt to further filter the power supply from the SOZ amp, what's better, regulating the power supply, or, simple BJT based constant current pull-ups?
What type of performance difference should I expect in each case?

Using CCS's on the positive rail will require some offset
stabilization not included in the original circuit, but is otherwise do-able, and will result in a more efficient circuit with even less damping factor. ZV6 will be addressing this, so watch for it. Regulating the supplies works well too.

I forgot, the higher the damping factor, the better the amp's capability to stop the woofer, right?

an updated SOZ
i built a regulated supply for my SOZ, from the Zen variations Part 3 article, and it worked quite well. So you should try that out while waiting for Zen V6. For some reason though, i'm back to using a Pi filter for my X-SOZ attempt (a la Henrik's schematic). With all the presents from Mr. Pass lately, i think he figured out a way to get UPS to deliver some extra hours for his days |
